A Case ofAdenosquamous Cell Carcinoma Arising in Benign cystic Teratoma ofOvary.

Abstract
The dermoid cyst isthe most common ovarian germ cell neoplasm and comprises approximately 10% of all ovarian tumors.
Primary malignant degeneration of a benign cystic teratoma ofthe ovary is not frequent, but does occur. This suequence can be assumed when the unquestionably malignant lesion occurs in a definitely localized area of a dermoid that is otherwise
entirely
benign.
The incidence of primary malignant degeneration ofa benign cystic teratoma of the ovarly is variously reported to be form 0.8% to 8%. This great divergence can be partially explained by the inclusion of small series of cases, for more extensive
ones,
report the incidence to be from 0.8% to 3.8%.
Any types of malignant degeneration or a combination of malignancies can arising in benign cystic teratomas of the ovary.Among those rare tumors withmalignant change in a beninign dermoid, 80- 88% are squamous, 6-7% are adencocarcinoma, and 7-8%
are
sarcomas of various types, and the remainder include thyroid carcinomas, carcinoids, and melanomas, and choriocarcinomas, ad mixed malignancies (ex : adenosquamous and epiderm-sarcoma)
We experienced a case of adenosquamous cell carcinoma arising in benign cystic teratoma oflt ovary in 56 years old woman, so we report this cases with a brief review of literatures.
